CAPTAINS FLAT POOL

Public BBQ

One arrives at 73 Foxlow Street with visions of aquatic refreshment, only to discover that time has temporarily claimed this particular slice of recreational paradise. The pool facility sits in bureaucratic limbo, wearing its "Temporarily closed" status like an apologetic shrug. Still, the bones of a proper community facility remain visible - those promised picnic tables suggest someone once understood that post-swim hunger is a real phenomenon, and the toilets stand ready for the inevitable biological necessities that accompany any outdoor adventure. The parking situation appears mercifully straightforward, which is more than can be said for many regional facilities. While you can't take a dip today, Captains Flat itself remains a charming testament to rural NSW's enduring appeal, even when its aquatic centrepiece is having an extended timeout.
